ART HANDLER
Hours: part-time, about 24 hours a week, Saturday to Monday, with occasional extra shifts
Where: Federation Gallery, Granville Island, Vancouver (on site)
Pay: $24 to $28 an hour depending on experience, plus 4% vacation pay; extended health benefits after a three-month probation
The role
The safe handling, preparation, installation, storage and shipment of artworks. You will manage inventories, write condition reports, coordinate domestic and international shipments, help hang and take down exhibitions, and keep the gallery and studio spaces in order.
You will have experience in art handling or gallery or museum logistics, strong organizational skills, and the physical ability to manage large works. Custom framing or conservation experience is a plus.
