About this workshop
A day on painting portraits with skin tones that stay alive. It opens with a short exercise mixing and placing colour tiles that describe a simple, three-dimensional head.
You then build a full portrait from a supplied reference. The drawing is traced to start, so the day stays on colour rather than proportion, and works step by step through mixing for a range of skin tones, what light and shadow do to colour, and how value carries form. Later come the subtleties: directional brushwork and the differences between one area of a face and another, with hands-on guidance as you paint.
Cancellations & refunds
Full payment is due at registration. The fee covers the whole day; no refund is given for time missed. Withdraw up to four weeks before the start date for a full refund; after that, no refund.
