About this workshop

A day on simplifying the way you paint, while keeping the result expressive and full of air. It starts with a firm design plan before the first brushstroke, then works through underpainting, wet-on-wet and other ways of keeping a watercolour unified.

The emphasis is on purposeful brushwork: suggesting form and detail without overworking, so the viewer finishes the story, and on knowing when a painting is done.

Tim Bennison has painted watercolours for forty years, from landscape and architecture to portraits, and teaches regularly for the FCA.
